On March 7, 2017, the Transatlantic Academy co-sponsored a discussion on "Europe's Year of Elections: Is There a Trump Effect?" at Johns Hopkins-SAIS with the Center for Transatlantic Relations (CTR) at SAIS and the Institute of Current World Affairs (ICWA). The event examined the upcoming Dutch, French, and German elections and featured Transatlantic Academy Executive Director Stephen Szabo, Benjamin Haddad, a research fellow at Hudson Institute, Ina Ruck, Bureau Chief of ARD German Radio & TV in Washington, and Guus Valk, Washington correspondent of NRC Handelsblad. Edward P. Joseph, Executive Director at ICWA and Senior Fellow at CTR, moderated the discussion.
