Biography

Biography

Heidi Tworek is a Fellow at the Transatlantic Academy and Assistant Professor of International History at the University of British Columbia. She works on the history of news, business, and international organizations. Her current book project focuses on news agencies as the nexus of modern news collection and dissemination. Tworek has published in academic venues including Journal of Global History, Journal of Policy History, Business History Review, International Journal of Communication, Journalism Studies, German History, and Enterprise & Society. She has also published in newspapers and magazines including The Atlantic, Politico, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. She received her BA (Hons) in Modern and Medieval Languages with a double first from Cambridge University and earned her PhD in History from Harvard University in 2012. She previously held the position of Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies and Lecturer on History in the History Department at Harvard University. Tworek has held visiting fellowships at Birkbeck, University of London, the Center for History and Economics at Harvard University, and the Centre for Contemporary History, Potsdam, Germany.
